A LITTLE BIT ABOUT JAY AGASSIZ...

As a long time local resident and REALTOR®, Jay has been busy helping consumers buy and sell Shuswap Lake property for 20 years now. Jay was born and raised in Kamloops where growing up he would often spend summers on the Shuswap at a family member's cabin in Scotch Creek. A ski instructor in the winter going back to the old Tod Mountain days, Jay moved to the Lower Mainland after completing college and built a successful business in the sporting goods sales industry. He would come back each and every summer to holiday in the Shuswap until 1999 when ultimately he & his family relocated back to live full-time.

Jay and his wife Angeline have watched their four daughters grow up happy in a small town and now they have grandkids who all live nearby. The family are outdoor enthusiasts and enjoy activities like camping, mountain biking, hiking, atving, skiing and snowboarding. Jay is particularily keen on fishing & fly tying. When time allows he's known to be casting a fly line from a float tube on a nearby stillwater lake, or trolling with his 4 legged sidekick in a tin boat for big rainbows somewhere on the Shuswap.There's also his much anticipated occasional getaway to the family's log cabin in the remote headwaters region of the Adam's River. 

Jay enjoys creating things out of repurposed materials and always has some "art" project or home improvement on the go. He's renovated many homes, knows his way around tools, and has a critical eye for detail. Jay's also into older vehicles, during the summer months you may spot him driving a restored forest green 1975 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40. He's also hoping to make more progress with another ongoing vehicle project which is his wife's toy, a 1970 VW Beetle convertible.

Jay and Angeline have both volunteered their time and resources to many local causes and business orgsanizations. They enjoy doing their part to ensure the Shuswap area continues to thrive and attract new residents. Jays' been involved in the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Improvement Association, Okanagan Real Estate Board and various other advisory committees and charities. The quantity and quality of both professional and personal relationships are important to Jay and he believes are also an attribute people consider when choosing an advisor they can trust.
